For our exhibition we still had not come up with a logo. So we spent both lessons in 2d and 3d coming up with a new logo that was designed by the students that are running the exhibition. The class decided that the staff designed logo was not that flash and that we could come up with a more interesting design. We also thought that the logo was basic and had been done before. It also did not really represent the word uphere. The class spent an hour coming up with the font that was to be used for the logo. I wanted something that was a bit more exciting than normal fonts so I suggested we use BlockHouse. Its got a rawness to it that i think represents the northern territory art scene.
So this is the logo that i came up with in class was not feeling very enthusiastic about designing another logo as I had already come up with quite a few that got knocked back. I also thought that my balloon logo was very good. The reason that they did not pick it were not very convincing. The other thing was all the students who saw it loved it.
In saying all that I am really happy with the final Logo designed by Amelia. It has the creative edge that i was hoping for. It represents the name well and does not show the obvious concept of representing the NT.
The other thing that we had to keep in mind with designing was corporate coms for the uni gave us strict guide lines that all the imagery for the exhibition must abide to. These are the colour pallet that must be followed when producing and promotion.
Great effort Jarrod. This post clearly covers all the efforts you made to stick to the brief and be creative.
ReplyDeleteYour design sensibility is coming along nicely and your ability to conceptualise and verbalise are also working well alongside.
